Validation of non-formal and informal learning – Overview of offers leading to qualifications at NQF levels 1-4
As part of the implementation of the strategy for validation of non-formal and informal learning in Austria, an online portal was developed to provide the general public with comprehensible information on available validation measures and their position in the qualification system as well as on accompanying measures, e.g. advisory services or training measures.
The aim of this project was to provide an overview of validation initiatives and measures that lead to qualifications that are or could be assigned to NQF levels 1-4.
The focus here was on “summarative validation approaches” (these comprise procedural steps that record a person’s learning outcomes in relation to requirements and are oriented towards defined standards of initial, continuing or further training), but selected “formative” and advisory approaches that lead to the acquisition of a qualification at NQF levels 1-4 were recorded as well.
