The AMS commissioned the transcoding of the new German occupational classification to its occupational system (AMS-Sechssteller, which are subordinated to the AMS-BIS occupations) to enhance the regional mobility of job seekers between Germany and Austria.

With the transcoding it will be easier for the AMS to fill in open job vacancies from Germany into their job placement system. The transcoding is done via using a matching tool that has been used for the AMS Enterprise Survey for several times and has been modulated for the German occupational system. Based on the results from the matching tool, editorial works is done by choosing from the suggestions of the tool, as well as quality assurance.
