TheErasmus+ Project “EXPECT – Exchanges of Practices in Education for Climate Targets”

Client: European Commission, Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership for vocational education and training
Duration: 10/2020-09/2022

19. November 2020

The aim of this peer learning project is to develop new education and training pathways for MINT vocational education and training in order to implement the climate targets of the European Commission and the 17 sustainability goals (SDGs). The EU member states have committed themselves to the objectives of the climate agreement and have formulated their own climate targets. This will only work with the involvement of the education sector and in particular with the help of vocational training.

When it comes to qualification structures, curricula, pedagogical-didactic approaches or involvement of employers, all these topics need to be revised and redesigned in order to implement a sustainable circular economy. The project partnership examines the status quo of vocational education and training in the seven partner countries, the progress they are making towards the climate goals, the role vocational education and training plays in this process, and the strategies and instruments used in each country.
