Client: European Commission – DG EAC
Duration: 2020

In November 2019, the Commission launched the EU-wide contest for the Jan Amos Comenius Prize for high-quality teaching about the European Union. This new prize is an initiative of the European Parliament, which is implemented by the European Commission. The prize is awarded to secondary schools which provide information on the European Union in an attractive way.
The aim of the prize is to create EU-wide recognition for relevant work in the Member States and to highlight the importance of teaching and learning about the EU at an early age and contribute to the dissemination of good practice. The European Commission received 168 applications from 24 Member States. In May 2020 (ahead of “Europe Day”), the prize was awarded to 22 secondary schools across the EU.
The assignment included the assessment of the applications received for the Jan Amos Comenius Prize and the information, communication and awareness-raising activities linked to it. The work was carried out in cooperation with Ecorys (BE) and 3s was responsible for coordinating and supporting the assessment of the applications done by independent experts.
More information about the prize, the winners and their activities is available here.
