The M.O.T.O project sought to contribute to the implementation of ECVET (European Credit Transfer System in Vocational Education and Training) through a partnership between ministries and national institutional bodies responsible for VET in four countries: Italy, Austria, Finland and Iceland.

In 2009, ECVET (European Credit Transfer System in Vocational Education and Training) was expected to finally be adopted and began a testing phase that lasted until 2012.

The only way to promote an instrument such as the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is its successful application. Many different perspectives exist on the proper use of the EQF and the future design or modifications of educational instruments related to the EQF.

This project sought to promote social inclusion of competent yet ‘officially’ unqualified workers within the European labour market.

As a Transfer of Innovation project, VQTS-Transfer – is based on the results of the project VQTS and seeks to apply the VQTS model to the field of product engineering.

The analysis of the statements received during the consultation process on the Austrian National Qualifications Framework (NQF) shows the need for further discussing and clarifying a series of important aspects. In order to meet this need, 3s was contracted by the department of vocational education and training at the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture to organise workshops for the discussion of specific questions.

Migration, mobility and integration and the resulting need for opening labour markets and educational systems represent great challenges for Austria but also for the European Union. The 1st Austrian Conference on VET Research focused on this topic as the main theme and also provided an overview of Austrian research activities in vocational education and training as well as in related areas.

The Commission asked for ongoing assistance to implement the EQF. The assistance focused on expert support and technical assistance with reference to supporting the EQF Advisory Group and its subgroups and actively following the EQF pilot projects, as well as following up to the EQF conference.
