Analysis of Higher VET in Europe

The objective of this study was to fill the knowledge gap in available evidence on higher VET which covers only selected levels of higher VET in a limited number of countries. Therefore, the study analysed all forms and levels of VET beyond upper secondary level in all 28 EU Member States.

ReferNet 2015

The European Network of Reference and Expertise in Vocational Education and Training (in short ReferNet) was set up by Cedefop (European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) in oder to meet the rising demand for information which is required for the comparison of current developments and political procedures in EU member countries.

Validation of non-formal and informal learning in VET

This project took the form of a stocktaking exercise, focusing on  validation mechanisms in vocational education and training (VET)  at NQF (National Qualifications Framework) levels 4-7.

Furthermore, the aim of the study was to analyse to which extent they comply with the aspects stated in the European recommendation on validation of non-formal and informal learning (such as access, methodology, professionalisation and quality assurance). Based on these findings, the conclusions and recommendations were developed in order to support the development of an Austrian national strategy on Validation.

Building knowledge on international cooperation in VET

With this assignment, taking the form of a mapping study, the European Commission aimed at taking stock of activities in the field of international cooperation in VET between European VET-systems and third countries as well as of activities at international level, under the umbrella of organisations such as ILO, World Bank, OECD, UNESCO etc.

METALOG – Metaframeworks for Logistics

In previous projects (CENTRAL, EUCOLOG, Prolog, Novalog, EURO TRANS LOG, ProfDRV) foundations were laid for improved, more transparent, more innovative qualifications and training in the sector.
The METALOG project aimed at concerting and transferring efforts hitherto undertaken by various European logistics projects and initiatives and to consolidate and broaden existing networks and partnerships in the sector.

CertiTrain – European Trainers’ Training and Certification

„Train-the-Trainer“ programmes and associated certification for trainers in continous VET is not regulated in most of the European countries. Therefore competence requirements and „train-the-trainer“ programmes vary considerably for CVET trainers within EU-28 and their transparency remains difficult.

EDISON Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship has never been more important than today. The current complex and insecure economic environment requires individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, not only important for entrepreneurs but also for employees. Research shows that young people with entrepreneurial experience during their education are not only more likely to start their own business, but are employed faster too.
