The M.O.T.O project sought to contribute to the implementation of ECVET (European Credit Transfer System in Vocational Education and Training) through a partnership between ministries and national institutional bodies responsible for VET in four countries: Italy, Austria, Finland and Iceland.

3s cooperated with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture in this project. The M.O.T.O. project provided concrete methodological tools to analyse and describe a range of vocational qualifications in terms of units of learning outcomes. The ‘M.O.T.O model’ developed facilitates the validation, recognition, accumulation and transfer of units of learning outcomes with reference to the existing European tools (EQF, Europass, ECTS) and principles (validation of non formal and informal learning, quality assurance). This is supposed to reduce the barriers to mobility across Europe. Each country’s experiences and good practices were shared within the partnership. The project was coordinated by ISFOL, Italy.
