The IST-project addressed the lack of specialised training courses for technicians who undertook international assignments and needed to be equipped with new skills to provide global customers with a high quality after sales service.

Using the in-house course developed by MAN Diesel (DE) as a starting point, the project aimed to produce a training course that was generic in character and was designed using a systematic procedure for transferring competences and qualifications developed by the VQTS projects. This new IST training course used a learning outcomes methodology and aimed to demonstrate how ECVET can be implemented. The project was coordinated by ROC Midden Nederland.
