Which digital competences are needed in which sectors and by which workforce? How can these competences be taught in the best possible way? These are important questions to ensuring the innovative capacity of companies. The needs-based provision of educational opportunities for the development of digital skills often poses a challenge for the education and training systems. Upper Austria is well aware of the significance of digital change and its effects on the innovative strength of Upper Austrian companies.
As part of the strategic economic and research programme “Innovative Upper Austria 2020” (Innovatives OÖ 2020), 3s was commissioned with a study. It comprised two service packages:
- In service package 1, the existing training offer in the field of digital competence in Upper Austria and the neighbouring provinces was surveyed, analysed and systematised.
- In service package 2, the Upper Austrian training needs were analysed with regard to the achievement of the current economic strategy (Upper Austria 2020) of the Federal Province of Upper Austria as well as with regard to future training needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Upper Austria.
