„Circular Economy Competences Making the Case for Lifelong Learning” is the motto of an event which will take place with the participation of 3s and at the invitation of ACR+ (Association of Cities and Regions for sustainable Resource Management) on 19 February 2019 in the European Parliament in Brussels.
Mainstreaming circular economy in lifelong learning has a strong potential to boost professional competences that match the needs of a growing circular economy job market. Circular economy learning can be introduced at different levels in the education system, from schools to vocational education and training. But how does this work in practice and what kind of policies can support learning processes?
The event, co-hosted by MEPs Silvia Costa and Simona Bonafè, will gather key actors of circular economy in education and training, fostering a Europe-wide cooperation based on knowledge sharing and exchange of good practices.
The event takes place in the framework of the Erasmus + CYCLE project, co-funded by the European Commission. The programme will feature experts and practitioners from local and regional authorities, training providers, NGOs and academia across Europe who will exchange their views and share their experiences in three thematic panels:
- Circular thinking/economy in education;
- Upskilling waste, repair & reuse industry;
- Circular Economy job market, core and enabling skills.
