‘NetECVET: Working together to understand and implement ECVET’ in the QALLL newsletter

The latest issue of the QALLL project newsletter ( ‘QualityAssurance in LifeLongLearning with a Focus on Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education’) informs about current developments in the European thematic network netECVET, which seeks to offer practical help for the application of ECVET (European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training) in transnational mobilities.

3s participated in the final QALLL Conference in Vienna: ‘Reaching QALLLity’ – Conference on Quality Assurance in Vocational Education & Training and Adult Education und Erwachsenenbildung

The final QALLL Conference took place November 5th – 6th in Vienna, Austria. The conference focused on Quality Assurance (QA) in vocational education and training and adult education. QA best practices and case studies have been central at the final QALLL conference. Interactive working groups and themed islands offered the possibility to network and learn about QALLL activities.

OBSERVAL-Net Validation Prize 2013

All organisations in Europe working in the sector of the Validation of Non-formal and Informal Learning (VNIL) are invited to submit case studies for the OBSERVAL-Net Validation Prize, which will be awarded in three categories in October 2013. The categories are the ‘Bottom Up Approach’, ‘New Profession’ and ‘Work-based Competence Development and Recognition’.

3s supports the European Commission / DG EAC in the development of cross-sectoral skills for ESCO (European classification of Skills, Competences and Occupations).

The Cross-Sectoral Reference Group (CSRG), set up early in 2012, engaged in initial research which culminated in the development of a first draft model for cross-sectoral skills in ESCO. That preparatory work paved the way for an in-depth empirical study which was carried out by Claudia Plaimauer (3s) and Elizabeth McSkeane between July and October 2012.

EQUAL-CLASS project has officially started!

The EQUAL-CLASS project which will analyse qualifications from several different angles, curricula, students, and graduates, has started this week in Baden (CH). The project partnership successfully discussed the ZOOM methodology which will be used for the comparison of qualifications. Moreover the instrument of ‘Remote Labs’ – online laboratories to remotely conduct real experiments – has been introduced.
