New publication on skills needs in greening economies
The publication underlines the important role played by trade unions, employers’ organisations and individual employers in supporting the Europe 2020 strategy’s goal of turning the EU into a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy capable of delivering high levels of employment, productivity and social cohesion.

The publication underlines the important role played by trade unions, employers’ organisations and individual employers in supporting the Europe 2020 strategy’s goal of turning the EU into a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy capable of delivering high levels of employment, productivity and social cohesion.
The study explores a selection of different and emerging models of social partner participation and engagement in the transition towards a low-carbon economy. It explores 4 thematic issues and presents best practices:
– identification and anticipation of competences and skills needs;
– recognition and validation of competences and qualifications;
– information, support and guidance;
– mobilising resources for the lifelong development of competences.
Amongst others also the Austrian klima:aktiv initiative in Austria is presented as best practice and reference to the Austrian Masterplan for Ensuring Human Resources for Renewable Energies (coordinated by 3s) is made.
