The new European Observatory of validation of non-formal and informal learning (VNIL), the exchange platform for practitioners, policy-makers, institutions and learners, has recently been launched. The Observatory is being developed by the OBSERVAL-Net project with contributions from 3s.
The Observatory works as a repository filled with high-quality information about VNIL systems and procedures in Europe, and enables users to exchange with other professionals in the area through periodic online discussions. Next to accessing country-specific information, registered users also have the option of uploading new documents (e.g. case studies), rating and commenting existing documents, sharing news and creating their individual user library (Favourites) regarding VNIL.
The OBSERVAL-Net project intends to set up a stakeholder-centric network of organisations supporting the validation of non-formal and informal learning (VNIL) in Europe. This network will bring together policy-makers and practitioners in the area of VNIL to mainstream VNIL practices into policy and thus to improve existing VNIL systems in the partner regions/countries, and at European level.
