Europass Austria is planning an event on October 15 2014 (2-5pm) as part of the event series „Europass and transparency“. A special focus will be put on the „European Area of Skills and Qualifications“.
In spring 2014 the European Commission carried out a public consultation on the ‘European Area of Skills and Qualifications’. The objective was to find out more about stakeholders‘ views on the problems of learners and employees when it comes to transparency and recognition of their skills and competences in the EU member states. Another objective was to get feedback on the aptitude of European strategies and transparency instruments in connection of its practicality when developing a ‘European Area of Skills and Qualifications’.
„Europass and transparency“ presents the results of the consultation process and gives an overview on the state of developing transparency instruments in Austria and Europe. It also deals with the current interaction of these instruments as well as with intended future networking concerning „European Area of Skills and Qualifications“.
Karin Luomi Messerer (3s) was invited to take part in the panel discussion with her topic: „Discussing Europass: What are the effects of the intended ‘European Area of Skills and Qualifications’ on mobility and the related recognition of acquired skills and competences of learnes and employees? –Discussion from the perspective of recognition, educational and career conselling as well as further education".
