3s at the Cedefop workshop on ‘Quality Assurance of Certification in IVET’

Cedefop, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, hosted a workshop on the quality assurance of certification in initial vocational education and training (IVET) on March 26 and 27  2015 at its headquarters in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Cedefop, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, hosted a workshop on the quality assurance of certification in initial vocational education and training (IVET) on March 26 and 27  2015 at its headquarters in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The workshop brought together national experts (policy makers, researchers, social partners, practitioners) from different European countries and representatives of international organisations to

•discuss European approaches to ensure the quality of certification process for initial VET;

•debate if and to which extent the use of learning outcomes influences quality assurance arrangements supporting certification;

•reflect to what extent and how the experiences from the certification process are taken into account when reviewing initial VET.

This workshop is closely linked to an ongoing study titled ‘Quality assurance of certification in vocational education and training’ which 3s is currently undertaking (in cooperation with ARQA-VET  on behalf of Cedefop.

3s experts Karin Luomi-Messerer, Mariya Dzhengozova and Monika Auzinger were actively contributing to the workshop.
