The EQUAL-CLASS project is a transfer of innovation project which aimed to compare and analyse qualifications in the field of mechatronics which can be obtained in higher non-university VET institutions or comparable institutions from several different angles: curricula, students and graduates.
Throughout the EQUAL-CLASS initiative, the project team used and tested several different approaches to the comparison of qualifications in order to develop transparency and a better understanding of engineering qualifications in the field of mechatronics and electrical engineering/electronics, with particular focus on their classification within National Qualifications Frameworks and their link to the European Qualifications Framework.
The project covers qualifications from five countries; Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Lithuania and Portugal. To this end, the EQUAL-CLASS project transferred the methodology developed in the previous ZOOM project.
The EQUAL-CLASS project provides an example on how similar qualifications from different countries can be described in a comparable way. It aimed to contribute to the creation of mutual trust and understanding through transparency and comparability among European countries and in the European labour market.
The final project results are available – see weblinks provided below.
