This year’s edition of the ECVET Annual Forum explored the role of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) in the context of facilitating flexible pathways.

On 11 October 2016, 200 participants from 31 countries got together for the ECVET Annual Forum, which took place in Rome, Italy. This year’s event in particular focused on exploring the role of ECVET in the context of facilitating flexible pathways to vocational skills.

Through a mix of key note speeches by leading researchers in the field, thematic presentations and workshops, the Annual Forum provided a platform for participants to collect information on recent developments in ECVET, together with ample opportunities to exchange views and discuss ideas on how ECVET principles can help to provide individuals with opportunities for open, flexible and individualised pathways to develop vocational skills and to get recognition for them.

As part of the ECVET Secretariat, which organises the ECVET Annual Forum on behalf of the European Commission, 3s took an active role in planning and implementing the event.

Karin Luomi-Messerer, Mariya Dzhengozova and Monika Auzinger formed 3s’ on-site team, contributing as session presenters and workshop facilitators throughout the day.
