Feasibility study for an education program to make up a college degree in business in the Adult Education Centre Meidling (Vienna)

Between the completion of compulsory educational school and the vocational matriculation examination there are some isolated educational offers in the dual sector in Austria (e.g. to make up an apprenticeship examination). But in the field of secondary vocational schools that could close the gap between the completion of a compulsory educational school and the school leaving examination (Matura), there are not many offers in the adult education sector in Austria.

With the adult education program to “make up a college degree in business” this gap was closed. In the course of the study different secondary statistic parameters (e.g. zone of attraction, residential population, educational and social structures, demand for comparable educational offers, drop-outs etc.) and the results of qualitative interviews with labour- and education experts were considered in order to have a qualitative review on the embedment of the planned education offer in the Austrian education and training environment.
