The event took place on September 2 2014 in the BFI Linz (Vocational Training Institute Upper Austria). Karin Luomi-Messerer was invited to give a speech.
BFI Upper Austria is partner of the European project „Building Learning Societies – Promoting Validation of non- formal and informal learning“, and fosters the European exchange programme on validation strategies in various countries. It especially concentrates on including civil society actors in the process within which experience, ideas, wishes, and considerations can be expressed. Within the framework of this project and for the support of the development of an Austrian validation strategy, the BFI Upper Austria organised a round table with experts from the youth, social , and education sector who especially work with affected groups like formally low-qualified people.
Karin Luomi-Messerer was invited to talk about the recommendations of the European Council for the validation of informal and non-formal learning as well as the status quo in Austria when it comes to validating non-formal and informal learning.
