‘Memorandum of Understanding’ as a supporting tool for recognition cooperations between VET Colleges and Universities

The permeability within the national education system when it comes to essential interfaces of the Austrian qualifications landscape was to be increased by improving the mutual recognition of learning outcomes already acquired.

In order to support cooperation processes between VET colleges (BHS) and tertiary/university institutes and for fostering permeability a tool was developed: the ‘Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)’.

In the framework of this project, the MoU draft was developed further and its applicability was discussed within the scope of workshops with representatives of the vocational and higher educational sector. The project was conducted in the context of the implementation of the Austrian ECVET strategy.
